# Firmware Installation Instructions

Welcome! This README provides essential instructions for using the firmware files available on this page with the official web flasher tool.

## Important Notes

1. **Web Flasher Tool**:  
   The firmware files can only be used with the official web flasher tool, which is accessible at  
   [https://flasher.meshcore.dev/](https://flasher.meshcore.dev/). To use it, please ensure to navigate down the list and select the option labeled “Custom Firmware.”

2. **Firmware Files**:  
   - **Merged Firmware**: Files marked with “-merged” are specifically intended for installation on fresh boards that have never had Meshcore installed before. If you are setting up a new board, please use these files.
   
   - **Standard Firmware for RP2040 or NRF Chipsets**:  
     If you have a board based on the RP2040 or NRF chipsets, please note that the standard USB drive copy of the uf2 firmware should be used instead. The merged firmware is not applicable in this scenario.

## Installation Steps

1. **Access the Web Flasher Tool**:  
   Go to [https://flasher.meshcore.dev/](https://flasher.meshcore.dev/).

2. **Select Custom Firmware**:  
   In the flashing interface, locate the section where you can select the firmware and choose “Custom Firmware.”

3. **Upload the Correct Firmware**:  
   - If you have a fresh board without Meshcore installed, ensure you select the firmware marked with “-merged.”
   - If your board is based on RP2040 or NRF chipsets, utilize the standard USB drive UF2 firmware instead.

4. **Follow On-Screen Instructions**:  
   Complete the flashing process by following any additional instructions provided in the tool.
